Carb Helper Bread is back!
Image
I was very surprised to come across this last week in my local grocery store. I thought it had been discontinued in 2005, and indeed, perhaps they have only recently brought it back, to my delight. This bread has a wonderful texture, and with only four net carbs per slice and five full grams of protein, I can actually make a sandwich using TWO slices instead of just one. Better yet, I paid only $1.50 for this loaf. "Happy days!"

King Soopers and City Market stores are common in the Midwest and Southwest. Because the bread is produced in Ohio, however, I feel quite sure that it can be found over most of the United States, under one name or another. I suggest you ask your local grocery store about it, and provide the distributor name below.

I give this bread two thumbs up, and and hope I can continue to find it for years to come.

Carb Helper bread ingredients:
Water, Wheat Gluten, Cornstarch, Oat Fiber, Isolated Soy Protein, Whole Wheat Flour, Yeast, Oat Flour, Soy Flour, and Enriched Flour (and Flour, Malt Barley Flour,Niacin, Ferrous Sulfate, Thiamin Mononitrate, Riboflavin, Folic Acid), Salt, Sesame Flour, Soy Oil, Barley Flakes, Cracked Wheat, Corn Meal, Rye Meal, Sesame Seed, Millet, Flax Seed, Calcium Stearoyl Lactylate, Dextrose, Sugar, Malt, Calcium Proprionate (Preservative), Datem, Spices, Monocalcium Phosphate, Calcium Sulfate, Ammonium Sulfate, Ascorbic Acid, Sucralose,Azodicarbonamide. (Contains Wheat and Soy)
Distributed by Inter-American Products, Cincinnati, Ohio 45202.

We don't have any of those stores in this part of southern MN unfortunately. I went to a City Market a couple of times when I visited Colorado... liked the store. Reminded me a lot of the Cashwise stores we have out this way... although the one in my town just closed...

I AM IN COLORADO AND THEY STOP CARRYING THIS BREAD. I WAS UPSET AND CALL MY
LOCAL KING SOOPERS OFFICE AND THEY SAID THEY STOP PRODUCING IT BECAUSE OF SOME PACKAGING ISSUES. NOT SURE WHAT THAT MEANS BUT I WOULD LOVE TO FIND A PLACE
TO BUY THIS ITEM IF ANYONE KNOWS.

My local City Markets told me "discontinued", too.
I have been making my own again, since, which makes the husband very happy, at least...

Inter-American Products is a subsidiary of Kroger which owns King Soopers & City Market
